Kevin Thornton
Head of Sales
Kevin Thornton
Before joining AEWM, Kevin worked as a financial advisor and then as an internal wholesaler and a hybrid wholesaler on the 401(k) team at Ivy Investments. As a team leader, he applies the knowledge he gained in those roles to consult with advisors about their overall practice; provide insights regarding appropriate business structures; and give suggestions about sales, marketing, and branding strategies.
Kevin is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance. He holds a life and health insurance license and has passed the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 exams. He has earned his CFP®, the CFP® certification process, administered by CFP Board, identifies to the public that those individuals who have been authorized to use the CFP® certification marks in the U.S. have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence when dealing with clients.
Kevin and his wife, Ashley, have two sons, Parker, and Carson. Kevin is an avid KU Jayhawks fan and enjoys trap/skeet shooting, going on wine-tasting tours and volunteering in his church.

Justin has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining AEWM in November 2021, he served as an institutional relationship manager, an internal and hybrid wholesaler, a product manager and a customer service representative. Through these roles, he gained valuable insights into different aspects of the financial services sector.
Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Public Administration, with a minor in economics, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Henry W. Bloch School of Business. He furthered his education there by earning a Master of Business Administration with dual emphases in finance and entrepreneurship.
Justin is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)® and has passed the FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 exams. Most recently, he earned the Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA)™ designation.
John Del-Zio

John Del-Zio
John joined Advisors Excel in September 2020 to help support and build out AE Financial Services. In July 2022, he joined the team as a director of wealth. John has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industries. John is a dedicated professional providing essential products and solutions for individuals, families, and business owners. Throughout his career, he has been an individual contributor, sales leader, and program manager. John graduated from San Diego State University. He has passed the Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 exams and holds his Kansas life and health license.
John’s success can be attributed to his unwavering focus on his clients. By taking the time to understand their unique values and needs, he transforms ideas into actionable plans.
John and his wife Maureen, who also works at Advisors Excel, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year and have four children. They moved their family from Southern California to become part of the AE family. John enjoys cooking, playing tennis and hiking. He also volunteers at his church in Topeka.

Lisa Becker
Lisa began her career at AEWM in 2017 as a transition consultant and moved into the relationship manager role in early 2019. Prior to joining AEWM, she worked in an independent financial advisor’s office for 13 years, gaining a deep understanding of all the pain points advisors experience on a daily basis.
Lisa has passed the Series 6, 63 and 65 exams. An avid reader and podcast listener, she is always learning and growing, both to benefit her own personal development and better serve the advisors with whom she works.
Lisa’s husband, Chad, also works for AEWM, and they have two adult “kids,” Emma and Jacob. Jacob is a firefighter for the Topeka Fire Department, and Emma has her master’s in social work and works in the Topeka 501 Public School District. The family loves to explore new places together — especially tropical locales boasting sandy beaches and cold drinks. Lisa has never met a dog she didn’t love, and her dream is to live in a tiny treehouse on a beach with her dogs (and maybe Chad).

With over a decade of experience in the financial industry, Chelsea joined AEWM in March 2016 as a transition consultant. She enjoyed training offices on all things AEWM and assisted them as they transitioned their clients over. After two years, she then moved to compliance, where she spent a year on our onboarding team before becoming a compliance examiner in March 2019. Chelsea is looking forward to putting her knowledge and experience to work, so she can provide excellent customer service to all the advisors who partner with AEWM. Before joining AEWM, she worked in banking for nine years. Chelsea has passed her Series 7 exam and is currently studying for her Series 66.
Chelsea is a native of Topeka, Kansas, where she still lives. In her spare time, she loves to read and spend time with friends and family.
Kimberly Remp

Kimberly Remp
Kimberly joined AEWM in April 2018 as a Processing Specialist. She also has held roles as an Advisor Service Representative, a Transition Consultant, and a Compliance Examiner within the company. She brings her diverse experience, paired with her passion for problem solving and delivering an exceptional client experience, to her role as Relationship Manager.
Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Supply Chain Management from the University of Arkansas, making her a proud Razorback by education in addition to a diehard Kansas Jayhawk by birth.
Involved in theater and dance from a young age, Kimberly lends her talents to choreograph musicals at a local dinner theater. She also gets in touch with her creative side through crafts and DIY projects — she is always making something.
Kimberly is planning a wedding with her fiancé, Andy. If you want, she can talk for hours about their three dogs (Delta, Tater and Link), and two cats (Taco and Li'l B).

Kim has worked in several positions since joining AE Wealth Management in 2019. She started on the Operations team as an Advisor Service Rep, then quickly moved into a Team Lead role in 2021.
In 2023, Kim moved to the Advisors Excel Creative Department, working as a Digital Account Manager. The role gave her the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of digital marketing and how advisors can use it to build and grow their businesses. She rejoined AE Wealth in early 2024 as a Relationship Manager.
Kim previously worked in the banking industry, and she currently holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses. Sports take up a lot of her time outside of work, whether she’s playing softball or volleyball or watching her kids play. You can frequently find her reading or napping during her family’s rare downtime.
